However, in between puppy and adult we go through what is called "Pom Uglies" when our soft puppy fur falls out and our adult coat comes in. Don't worry we do not go bald, we just lose some of the puppy fur. We go through this from about 3 months to 5 months. Don't fret we become gorgeous afterwards! Our adult coat can take up to a full 2 years for both our coats to come in full. We have both an undercoat which is soft and an uppercoat that is a little coarse.
